Doctor of Medicine at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines, (1986). Also received B.S. in Biology, (1982). He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Soberano has been a practicing pediatrician for 19 years. He has been CEO of SAPA since 2003 opening our current location off CR 210 in 2006. He is also the Medical Director at Florida School for the Deaf & Blind - Pediatric Developmental Clinic.
Dr. Soberano has a daughter attending school at University of Florida and a son who is a medical intern. His wife, Dr. Celeste Soberano, practices Internal Medicine at an office in Southside.
Dr. Malacaman took Bacheror of Science in Zoology for her undergraduate degree and received her medical degree (M.D.) from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She finished her Pediatric Residency from Rush Children's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois in 1997. She is board-certified in Pediatrics and a member/fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Malacaman has been a practicing pediatrician since 1997. She had her solo practice in Ohio before moving to Florida in 2006 and joined St. Augustine Pediatrics.
She is married to Dr. Anthony Malacaman who is board certified in Internal Medicine Doctor and is practicing as a Hospitalist at Baptist Medical Center South. They are blessed with two wonderful girls, Alyssa and Ashley.
Dr. VanBennekom grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Allegheny College for her undergraduate degree. She received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in pediatrics from the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. She is board certified in pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
As a Lieutenant Commander, Dr. VanBennekom served in the US Navy and practiced in Japan, Jacksonville and Virginia. She has been a member of SAPA since 2006.
Dr. VanBennekom is married and has two children: Olivia and Alex. Her husband, Jason, is a board-certified Ob/Gyn.
Jennifer started out at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL as RN in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology department from 1993 to 1997, then at PICU from 1997 to 1999. After receiving her ARNP degree she was employed with Rose Pediatrics in Denver, CO from 1999 to 2006. She has been with SAPA since 2006.
Jennifer and her husband John have 3 wonderful children, a daughter and twin boys. She plans on returning to school in the near future to complete her doctorate degree.
Amy grew up in Jacksonville, Fl and graduated from Stanton College Preparatory School. She received an Associate in Nursing Degree in 1996 from Florida Community College at Jacksonville and then enrolled in the fast-track ASN to MSN program at the University of Florida while working full-time and graduated with both her BSN and MSN in 2000. Amy returned to UF in 2010 earning a post-graduate certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and worked at Wolfson Children's Hospital in the NICU for several years before returning to primary care.
Amy is Board Certified as both a Pediatric and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in Pediatric Primary Care at several practices around Jacksonville for the past 15 years. She joined SAPA in 2015 and continues to work part-time in the Neonatal ICU's at Baptist, Orange Park, Memorial and St. Vincent's hospitals. She travels to Baptist South during the week to examine the newborns in our practice.
Amy and her husband Robert have two girls, Gabby and Emma. She enjoys going to the beach, attending concerts, traveling with her family and is active in her church, The Crossing in Julington Creek.
